It’s difficult to trust it’s been barely a long time since darling actor Heath Ledger — known best for his parts in “10 Things I Hate About You,” “Brokeback Mountain,” and perhaps most notably, “The Dark Knight” — passed away, abandoning companions, family, fans, and the most critical individual in his life — his two-year-old little girl, Matilda Rose.
Ledger died on January 22, 2008, at only 28 years of age. At the time, he’d been blending deadly measurements of remedy pills to battle his sleep deprivation, which prompted an unplanned overdose and his death.
“For as long as I’d known him, he had bouts with insomnia,” said actress Michelle Williams, Ledger’s former fiancée and Matilda Rose’s mother. “He had too much energy. His mind was turning, turning turning — always turning.”
